BABA EGBE

Asiwaju Taiwo Adeniji is the BABA EGBE of Egbe Obayori Okunrin Akile Ijebu.

Born on November 3, 1961 into the Adeniji family of Imupa, BABA EGEB attended Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode for his foundation education.

BABA EGBE holds a First-Class Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the Obafemi Awolowo University and a Distinction Master of Science degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos including being an Honorary Senior Member (HCIB) of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. Additionally, BABA EGBE has undertaken professional training in corporate risk management, credit analysis, infrastructure financing, banking supervision, and leadership programs.

Professionally, BABA EGBE has over 28 years of post-graduate and extensive professional and managerial experience in several areas of banking and finance. BABA EGBE is currently Senior Director, Investments Group at the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), where he has responsibility for the institution’s investments in oil & gas, mining and transport infrastructure projects. Previously, from 1994, BABA EGBE worked with the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire and Tunis, Tunisia where he was involved in infrastructure, industrial and financial sector development projects. BABA EGBE left the African Development Bank as a Chief Financial Analyst in 2007.

BABA EGBE has also extended his services to the First Bank of Nigeria Plc, the United Bank for Africa Plc and the Chartered Bank Limited where he was a Manager responsible for commercial banking experience managing the bank’s relationship with some of the biggest corporate concerns in Nigeria. 

BABA EGBE is a philanthropist involved in the development of the local community, education for all, eradication of poverty and mentorship. BABA EGBE is a prominent partner in the activities if his alma mater the Ijebu Muslim College and has held the following positions over the years: Secretary and later President, Ijebu Muslim College Old Students Association (IMCOSA), University of Ife, President, IMCOSA, 73/77 set and IMCOSA Merit Award Recipient, (2012).
